2010 International Summer School on Chips, Computers and Crops

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Our summer school on “Chips, computers and crops” aims to teach best practice in the application of state-of-the-art computational techniques and genomic technologies to crop research. The summer school will cover interdisciplinary science, in a rapidly evolving field, bringing together ideas from the fields of mathematics, bioinformatics, genomics and post-genomic experiments on model organisms. Moreover, given the recent dramatic rise in staple food prices across the globe, it is an area of science of particular strategic interest. Because of these attractions, we expect the school to be of interest to a range of students from all academic levels, from post-graduate students to postdoctoral workers to junior academics.
